The Dreamer

Although born in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky far from the ocean,  Betsey Grady spent her early years in Danville, Virginia, a small mill town on the North Carolina border, always with an affinity for the restfulness of water-living.  After earning a college degree, her adventurous spirit led her to Florida with her two best friends from school.   Living in Florida enhanced her love of water-living and allowed her to embrace her interests in health and beauty.  At this time she read “Creative Visualization” by Shakti Gawain. This opened her eyes and heart to the concept of positive thinking and how it affects every aspect of life. For the past 20 years she has made it her life mission to educate herself and surround herself with things that could only enhance a happy and healthy approach to living.  She has learned much from the writings of Shakti Gawain, Louise Hay, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Neale Walsch, and many others, and she continues to immerse herself in all aspects of aromatherapy and flower essences. In 1996, her life journey took her from Florida to California, where ironically, her two best friends from college also had landed. Life in San Francisco was exactly what she needed to inspire her to cultivate her studies; and, as a result, she became exposed to a wide variety of cultures, eastern medicines, holistic practices, angel therapy, Bikram yoga, and so much more. San Francisco became a home for her spirit and soul, and the attraction for water-living continued to expand. Fully realizing the effect water has both externally and internally, she promised herself to never live apart from the ocean. Fairhope, Alabama,  a sweet and charming town on Mobile Bay just minutes from the Gulf Shores, is now her home.  Reminiscent of California in many ways, it reminds her of Sausalito, where art is abundant, homes and people are eclectic, scenery and views are spectacular, and... everything shuts down by 5 PM.

Fairhope is home to her first retail store, Rosie Blu, life unedited... opened in 2007.  In this sleepy town, with a relaxed and slower pace of living, Betsey's inspiration of creating a line of positive botanical waters occurred in a dream. As everything happens in divine perfect order, she was able to act on her dream and produce her line of 222 waters and present them for sale in her store. Inspired by the positive messages each of the nine fragrant waters represents, locals and tourists alike are joining Betsey on her journey of promoting peace and harmony.

If you are planning to travel south, Betsey invites you to stop by Rosie Blu and visit with her and her cousin Becky (who, by the way, has her own fabulous story from the Bluegrass state). And make sure to say hello to Rosie, the gentle black lab who lives in a state of perpetual Gratitude after being rescued by The Haven, Fairhope's local no-kill shelter.

There's lots of good karma floating around Fairhope. It's Positively Inspiring.
